                  VTCT Level 2 VRQ Diploma in Beauty Specialist Techniques

The Level 2 Diploma in Beauty Specialist Techniques (QCF) is a qualification that has been specifically designed to acquire and develop your practical skills in the following treatments: 
  • to provide eyelash and brow treatments  
  • removal of hair using waxing techniques 
  • application make-up 
  • provide manicure treatment 
  • provide pedicure treatment  
  • facial skincare. 

To further enhance your practical skills you will have the opportunity to choose from additional units which can be discussed with your tutor.


In addition to the above units within this qualification you will also you will develop a sound knowledge of:

  • health and safety within a salon environment 
  • how to contribute to the effective running of a beauty business 
  • client care and communication, how to carry out effective salon reception duties  
  • how to display retail stock to promote sales in the salon. 


In-depth essential knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology will also be embedded with the core 
units, you will cover the following subjects:
  • The Muscular system, 
  • The Skeletal system, 
  • The Skin, 
  • The Hair, 
  • The Nervous system, 
  • The Circulatory system

  
The purpose of this qualification is to develop your skills in beauty therapy to a high level of occupational ability, to enable you to perform your own salon services.




Facials

This unit will cover cleansing, toning, mask application, massage techniques, moisturising, products, tools of the trade and also includes full training by an Eve Taylor professional.

Waxing

Covers eyebrow, underarm, full leg and half leg, lip and chin waxing techniques and principals

Eye treatments

Covers eyelash and eyebrow tinting and science and eyebrow shaping

Manicure


Covers file and paint, buffing, cuticle work, massage techniques and luxury treatments,

Pedicure

Covers file and paint, buffing, cuticle work, massage techniques and luxury treatments,

Makeup

To cover preparation of the client, correction techniques, shading, highlighting and contouring, tools of the trade, day, night and special occasion makeup

Instruction on makeup

Techniques and products, instruction on how to pass information on to the client



Health and safety


Covers procedures and practices to be carried out within the workplace and within treatments in accordance to current health and safety at work acts and in line with current legislation. 


Client care and Communication


This unit will provide you with the knowledge and skills to carry out effective client care and communication, before, within and after treatments and within the workplace. 
This course will run for 12 weeks with an opportunity for extra support when required. The cost of this course is £1495 which includes uniform, course fees, resources, registration fees and portfolio.
